Malia Obama and Sasha Obama Enjoy Brat Autumn With Charli XCX Concert Outing

Sasha Obama and Malia Obama wanna hear those club classics.

The daughters of former President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama attended Charli XCX and Troye Sivan’s Sweat Tour at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles Oct. 16.

For their sister outing Malia, 26, wore a gray sleeveless plaid vest and denim skirt for the concert outing, completing her look with tall black boots. As for Sasha, 23, she complemented a long-sleeved graphic top and jeans with a large black statement belt.

It seems the apple don’t fall far from the tree as the sisters seem to share similar music taste with their father. The former Commander-In-Chief made headlines for including Charli’s song “365”—off her most recent album, Brat—on this year’s edition of his annual summer playlist, later doubling down on his buzzworthy pick.

“I just put out my playlist, and ‘365’ is on it, and [Brat] is a great album,” he said on the I've Had It podcast in September. “People question sometimes whether I’m actually listening to all this music. As I’ve testified before, I am.”

Though the 44th president, who held the office from 2009 to 2017, stood by his selections, he did credit his daughters with helping to curate the list.

“I get input from my daughters, who undeniably are a little more up to speed on a day-to-day basis,” he continued. “Charli XCX, she knows what she’s doing.”

As for Malia, the budding filmmaker made a bold choice of her own earlier this year, styling herself as Malia Ann for her most recent project, the short film The Heart. Although the short—produced by Donald Glover—served as Malia’s directorial debut, she also earned writing credits on Donald’s comedy-horror miniseries Swarm.

“I feel like she's just somebody who's gonna have really good things coming soon,” he raved to Vanity Fair in March 2022. “Her writing style is great. We can't be easy on her just because she's the [former] President's daughter.”
