Liam Payne Shared What He Was Looking Forward to in Days Before Death

It isn’t just humans that will miss Liam Payne.

In the days before his Oct. 16 fatal fall from a hotel balcony in Argentina, the former One Direction member posted a video to his Snapchat detailing who he was excited to see upon his return home.

After teasing his girlfriend Kate Cassidy as a “weirdo” for leaving Argentina ahead of him, Liam couldn’t help but to gush over their dog when the influencer pointed out that she was heading to Florida to be “with Nala.”

“Obviously, we’re gonna go home and see our dog,” the 31-year-old said in a screen recording of the video. “Nala, Noonie, Chooch. What else do I call her? I call her really random names, I make up a lot of random names. Choochie. So, nothing to do with Nala.”

The couple of two years recently adopted the pooch from Urgent Dogs of Miami, an animal rescue shelter in the area, after doing what Liam called a “meet and greet with a couple doggos.” In one video shared on Sept. 17, Liam hugged and kissed an excited Nala, writing alongside a heart emoji, “I think we may have found the one.”

He later introduced Nala to his followers, calling his canine friend “the newest member of our family.”

In another photo from adoption day of Kate and Nala cuddling, Liam joked, “I’m jealous Kate is getting all the attention.”

In addition to Nala, the “Strip That Down” singer welcomed another dog named Stanley earlier this year. In a Feb. 14 Instagram post that included pictures of himself and the pup, Liam wrote, “Welcome to the family, Stanley! Our hearts are bigger with you in it.”

Two days after Liam’s tragic passing, Kate released a statement sharing her grief, saying that she’s been “at a complete loss.”

“Nothing about the past few days have felt real,” she wrote on her Instagram Story Oct. 18. “Liam, my angel. You are everything. I want you to know I love you unconditionally and completely. I will continue to love you for the rest of my life. I love you Liam.”
