Luka Doncic fined heavily for ‘money gesture’ to referees in Golden State Warriors vs Dallas Mavericks game
On Wednesday, Dallas Mavericks had lost 125-127 to Golden State Warriors. Mavericks' superstar Luka Doncic was recorded rubbing his fingers together, in an apparent reference to money while staring down a referee with 1.7 seconds remaining in the game.
NBA have released a statement on Friday, deeming Doncic's actions as "inappropriate and unprofessional" and also imposed a fine of $35,000 on the 24-year-old.

Doncic was the best performer for Mavericks in the match as he finished with 30 points, seven rebounds and 17 assists. Meanwhile, the guard already has 15 technical fouls in the season and is just one away from an automatic one-game suspension.
On Friday, Warriors won 120-112 against Philadephia 76ers. With 39 wins and 36 losses, they are now currently placed sixth in the standings for Western Conference. And they have qualified for the playoffs.
On the other hand, Mavericks lost 109-117 to Charlotte Hornets. With 36 wins and 38 losses, they are placed 11th in the standings for Western Conference and have failed to qualify for the playoffs.
After the loss against Hornets, Doncic was really disappointed and he highlighted the issues that are plaguing him.
“It’s really frustrating. I think you can see it with me on the court. Sometimes I don't feel it’s me. I'm just being out there, you know? I used to have really fun smiling on court, but it's just been so frustrating for a lot of reasons, not just basketball,” said Doncic in the post-match press conference.
