46-year-old star wrestler wins 2023 Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal
Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal took place on WWE SmackDown on Friday night. In the ninth edition of the annual event, 28 wrestlers locked horns with each other. The likes of Bobby Lashley, Karrion Kross, Baron Corbin, Bronson Reed, Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde, Cruz Del Toro, LA Knight, Butch, Ridge Holland, Dolph Ziggler and Mustafa Ali, took part in the contest.
Of the 28 wrestlers, Bobby Lashley, Braun Strowman and Bronson Reed remained as the last three to be in the hunt to become champion. Lashley eliminated Strowman and Reed and became the winner.

With the win, Lashley joined the elite club comprising Cesaro (aka ROH World Champion Claudio Castagnoli), Big Show (aka Paul Wight), Baron Corbin, Mojo Rawley, Matt Hardy, Braun Strowman, Undisputed WWE Tag Team Champion Jey Uso, and Madcap Moss who had previously won Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal.
Interestingly, Lashley doesn't have a match announced in the WrestleMania 39. After the win, the 46-year-old took to Twitter and expressed his interest in joining The Show of Shows.
"I’ll say it once again…I AM FREE SATURDAY & SUNDAY!! You can’t have #WrestleMania without the All-Mighty. You just can’t! Whoever wants to test me, step up! @WWE #SmackDown," tweeted Lashley.
WrestleMania 39 is scheduled to take place as a two-night premium event on Saturday, April 1 and Sunday, April 2 at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, USA. In the Showcase of the Immortals, Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns will defend his title in a one-on-one fight against 2023 Royal Rumble winner Cody Rhodes.
