'Sports not a failure' Giannis Antetokounmpo shuts up reporter after crashing out of NBA playoffs
Milwaukee Bucks' Giannis Antetokounmpo lashed out at a reporter during a post-game interview after his team's playoff loss to the Miami Heat. Antetokounmpo and the Bucks, who had the best record in the NBA's regular season, were knocked out of the playoffs in the first round after a series of disappointing performances.
The Greek star was asked if the team's season was a failure, to which he responded angrily, "Oh my god. You asked me the same question last year, Eric. Okay, do you get a promotion every year? No. So every year your work is a failure - yes or no?"
Antetokounmpo went on to state that there is no such thing as failure in sports, as some days you win and some days you lose. He said, "You working towards a goal is not a failure. Michael Jordan played for 15 years, won six championships so the other nine years was a failure - that's what you're telling me?"
He expressed frustration at not being able to do more to stop Heat star Jimmy Butler, who led his team to victory with 42 points, eight rebounds, four assists, and two steals.

Despite the loss, the Milwaukee Bucks can take pride in their historic championship win in 2021, their first in half a century. However, with Antetokounmpo facing criticism for the team's recent shortcomings, the Bucks will need to regroup and refocus if they hope to reclaim their position as one of the NBA's elite teams.
