Johnny Manziel's Former Teammate Responds To Brutal Criticism
Brian Hoyer is firing back after some brutal criticism from Johnny Manziel.
Johnny Football made some waves during a lengthy interview with Shannon Sharpe when he essentially claimed Hoyer bullied him during his time in Cleveland. The former first round pick didn't paint the situation in the team's QB room in a positive light at all.
Manziel told Sharpe, "My quarterback room was not a home for me because of Brian Hoyer. Brian Hoyer had been waiting on opportunity to be able to go really provide for his family, get an opportunity and he saw how much of an upper hand he had on me and he didn't hold back when it came to that. So there were instances in the quarterback room early on when I would ask the same question a couple times and he'd be at the head of the table and go, '[Disgusted noise] Again? We're doing this again?' Keep him out of it, right. Let's just cut that off and I don't have a bad word to say about Brian Hoyer. That is just fact of what happened in that room."

Well, f has now responded to the comments from his former Browns teammate and fellow QB, but he has a bit of a different recollection of how it all went down.
"I was kind of apathetic towards him I would say. I didn't go out of my way to be a jerk to him, but in the same sense, I was trying to win this job and go out and perform the best I could. I feel sorry that he feels that way about it. I always looked at it like, I never had any animosity towards Johnny. If anything, it was towards the owner and GM, who were always trying to push him ahead of me when, clearly, he wasn't ready and I was going to be the starter," Hoyer said Wednesday on "Good Morning Football."
He also added, "I feel bad he feels that way, but I don't really recall it being that way either." You can watch his full comments below, and send me your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
The drama simply never stop when it comes to Johnny Manziel. The man's last appearance in an NFL game was late December 2015.
It's currently early 2024 and people are still talking about him. His ability to move the needle is truly something else. As for what is the truth in this situation?
That's something only Hoyer, Manziel and the other people in the room will know for sure. Obviously, they have two very different versions of what went down.
Manziel claimed Hoyer didn't treat him well. Hoyer claims he was more or less neutral on Manziel and any angry he had was directed at management.
All we know for sure is Manziel has, once again, whipped up interest in his life and short NFL career.
