RGIII Ripped For Gun Control Tweet After Kansas City Shooting
RGIII is facing serious criticism after pushing for gun control following a deadly shooting at the Kansas City Chiefs Super Bowl parade.
One person was killed and more than 20 were injured after shots were fired at the team's Wednesday Super Bowl parade. Three people have been detained in the investigation, but further details remain largely unknown at this time.
Instead of letting the facts come out, the former second overall pick hopped on X and pushed for more gun control in America.
"Mass shootings are not a political issue. Men, Women and Children dying from mass shootings are not a political issue. Thoughts and prayers are not enough. America is a GREAT COUNTRY. Put the politics aside, work TOGETHER and pass laws to ensure we are no longer known as the land of mass shootings," the former Washington QB tweeted a few hours after the shooting unfolded.

RGIII hit with criticism after gun control tweet.
While the former NFL player might want more gun control, many people on X made it clear they felt he had no idea what he was talking about. After all, there are already a lot of gun laws and restrictions.
Check out some of the popular responses below.
That's more or less a sampling of the vast majority of responses, and people are bringing up a great point. What laws specifically need to be passed?
It's incredibly important to get specific when talking about passing new laws and restricting people's rights. What laws would have stopped this shooting? How should the law be enforced? What should happen to people who don't comply? These are all questions everyone should demand be answered instead of just saying, "We need more gun laws."

Furthermore, as many pointed out, it's illegal to murder people. Yet, that doesn't stop bad guys. It's also illegal to carry a gun with the intent to commit a crime, it's illegal to discharge weapons in public outside of a self-defense situation, it's illegal to transport weapons with the intent to commit a crime and it's 100% illegal to shoot people for no reason. Yet, all these laws didn't stop the bad guys - whose names still aren't known.
Much like I wrote the Second Amendment after the massacre in Israel, good people are their own first line of defense. Fortunately, the police and random bystanders in Kansas City also acted with incredible bravery to put an end to the carnage.
I'm willing to debate any topic, but let's stick to specifics. What laws does RGIII want passed, why does he think they'll work, how will they be enforced and what will happen next if the laws fail? Without specifics, he's just shouting into the wind. Let me know what side you're on when it comes to the Second Amendment at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
