Paige VanZant Announces Major Fighting Career Update
It sounds like Paige VanZant will return to fighting sooner rather than later.
VanZant was once a rising star in the UFC before her flame was extinguished after multiple losses. She simply was never able to meet the hype that surrounded her and eventually landed with BKFC.
The BKFC has also not been kind to the former UFC fighter turned content star. She's 0-2 organization and last fought July 2021. Fans have wondered if she'll ever fight again. The answer appears to be yes, and it'll be a boxing match.
VanZant said the following on her podcast, according to MMAFighting.com:
"I got called by my manager day before yesterday, and I got offered a fight. A boxing match, and I took it. I don’t know if I can give all the details, I haven’t signed a contract yet. I accepted the fight. It was initially, the date they offered me was March 23, which was perfect. Hell yeah, I’ll get one more fight in before I turn 30, because I turn 30 [on] March 26. So I told my manager f*** yeah, I’ll take it. I’ll get back into boxing. I was just really excited. The opportunity was really cool. So it was perfect, eight-week camp, I don’t that long to stress or overthink, or anything like that, so that’s perfect. It turns out it’s not going to be March 23. After I accepted it, they’re like, you know what, we’re going to move it to [May or June]. I heard both dates, so once I have the full information, we’ll be able to release it on the podcast. Accepted a boxing match, that will be my next fight. It’s really, really exciting."

Why is Paige VanZant fighting again? Seriously, what is the point? VanZant has turned into a successful content star, and you know what being an Instagram star doesn't require?
Getting punched in the face. She makes serious money online. VanZant once revealed that she made more in a single day in the content game than she earned in her entire UFC career, which was more than $500,000.
I'm not an expert in many things, but if you make money in the content game, it might not be a great idea to risk getting your face messed up.
Just a thought! Don't mess with something that isn't broken.
We'll see how she does whenever this boxing match happens, but fans should enjoy it while it lasts. Something tells me this will be the last time VanZant ever competes in combat sports. It simply doesn't make sense at all. Let me know your thoughts at David.Hookstead@outkick.com.
