Afghan MMA fighter attempts to flee India after massive brawl, accused of having fake Aadhar Card
Having been accused of leading a brutal attack on Indian MMA fighter Srikant Sekhar, Afghanistan's MMA star Abdul Azim Badakshi found himself in fresh controversy once again on Wednesday. Taking to Twitter, actor and MMA talk show expert Parvin Dabas accused Badakshi of 'attempting to flee' India tonight and also revealed that he has two passports, one Afghan and one Indian, and also possesses an Aadhar Card.
Dabas also tweeted photos of the Afghan fighter's alleged Indian passport and Aadhar Card. The documents were in the name of Azim Sethi.
He wrote, "Afghan MMA fighter Abdul Azim Badakshi holding two passports, Afghani and Indian and having made an Aadhar card (god knows how) is attempting to flee tonight…not sure if FIR has been filed yet by @DelhiPolice am being told same is being done under bailable offences".
Here are the photos of the fighter's Indian passport and Aadhar Card:
"Even though it was an attempt to murder Indian mma fighter @srikantsekhar1 by him and the mob…he is now attempting to flee the country…hope the powers that be do something to stop him @HMOIndia @MumbaiPolice @NIA_India @india @htTweets", he further added.
The assault on Sekhar occured on June 24, at Matrix Fight Night 9 in New Delhi. The Indian fighter has been hospitalized with a broken jaw and other injuries.
Sekhar had a match against Sumeet Khade and registered a D'Arce choke submission in Round 1. Following the win, he called out Afghan fighter Zahoor Shah, who had earlier defeated him and was also fighting against Seth Rosario. Badakshi was present in the venue to give his support for Zahoor. Following the fight, things took a bad turn when Badakshi sucker punched Sekhar and his fans stormed cage side to attack the Indian fighter.
After getting hospitalised, Sekhar also updated his fans while speaking to The MMA India Show. "I was not supposed to be here, I was supposed to be out there celebrating after the win, but now I have like a broken jaw, a bleeding ear and five plates to my jaw. I just got over with my operation and I am feeling very emotional about it. Because when I think about it….What is all this for? I don’t understand, I really didn’t deserve this", he said.
