Hallmark’s Jonathan Bennett Gives Winning Advice to Donna Kelce Before Movie Debut

Jonathan Bennett is ready for a huddle with Donna Kelce.

After all, the Mean Girls star shared the helpful advice he has for Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce's mom as she makes her acting debut in Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story and Christmas on Call this winter.

"Always make sure that you act less in your close-up," Jonathan told E! News' Francesca Amiker in an exclusive interview. "Otherwise, it looks like you're doing too much."

The 43-year-old, who is hosting the upcoming Hallmark reality show Finding Mr. Christmas, is thrilled about Donna's acting career in the football-inspired film. And although he's not a sports fan, he does love Travis' girlfriend Taylor Swift.

"I'm so happy that Taylor Swift's boyfriend's mom is getting to be in the Hallmark universe," he said. "I don't follow football at all, but I know she's a big deal. I love Taylor Swift, and I love the Chiefs and I'm very happy for them, but I'm very excited to see this come out."

Jonathan, who's starred in nine Hallmark movies over the years, knows what it takes to be a star on the network. So, it's no surprise he'll also help crown "Mr. Christmas" from ten aspiring actors in Hallmark's first reality competition.

"What are the qualities of the Hallmark leading men that we've come to know and love?" he asked. "They've got a great smile. They've got charm oozing out of their ears. They've got a great sense of humor. They can make a joke out of anything and uplift a scene at any moment. They are kind people, and they also have a huge heart."

And those are qualities that extend beyond the page.

"That's not just the characters they play," he emphasized. "That's who these people are—who all the Hallmark actors are in real life. I'm so proud of and so confident in our cast and who these guys are because it shows on screen the reflection of who they are as people."

The Cheaper By The Dozen 2 actor also loves seeing other celebs find success in acting in the genre. In fact, he couldn't help but gush over his Mean Girls costar Lindsay Lohan's first starring role in eight years in Netflix's Falling for Christmas.

"I reached out to Lindsay and congratulated her and welcomed her to the Christmas movie world and Christmas movie family," he told E! in October 2022. "I think this is going to be such a fun movie because she's one of the best actresses of our generation. People are ready to see her and want to see her and there's no better way to do it than in a Christmas movie that's a comedy, which is where she shines."

And he’s also hopeful the pair will get to work together in the future.

"I'm going to be watching," he added, "I'm going to be rooting and I can't wait to do a Christmas movie with her at Hallmark, hopefully!"
