1000-Lb. Sisters’ Amy Slaton Tearfully Reacts to Milestone in Weight Loss Journey
Amy Slaton is proud of her progress.
In E! News' exclusive sneak peek at the Oct. 29 episode of 1000-Lb. Sisters, the TLC star goes on a special shopping trip.
“I always wanted a pair of heels, but I was never skinny enough,” Amy explains. “When you’re fat and blind, your balance is kind of off, so on the ground is more sturdy.”
The mother of two—who shares sons Gage Deon Halterman, 4, and Glenn Allen Halterman, 2, with ex-husband Michael Halterman—went on to note that her recent weight loss has come from all parts of her body.
“When you lose weight, you’re not only losing it in your belly, your legs, your boobs, your ass, you’re losing it everywhere, your fingers and feet included,” Amy shares. “I never know my shoe size.”
And while the shopping trip is a celebratory event, Amy admitted that the heels weren’t necessarily a natural fit for her.
“When I try on the skinny heels, it feels awkward,” she says. “It made me feel like a baby cow trying to walk for the first time. I haven’t gotten my sea legs yet.”
Part of Amy’s success came from the knowledge that she had lost enough weight to wear the heels without risk.
“It’s registering that I have lost weight, and I’m not going to break the damn heel,” she quips. “It’s a good moment.”
Amy isn’t the only member of her family shedding the weight. Her sister Tammy Slaton has also been candid about her healthy journey.
In an Oct. 15 episode of the show, Tammy revealed her impressive new weight after previously being at 725 pounds at her “rock bottom.”
Tammy weighed in at close to 304 pounds, with Dr. Eric Smith assuring her the weight loss was "unbelievable."
Tammy herself was also shocked by the results, celebrating the news and saying, "I surpassed Dr. Smith's goal, my goal, all the goals!"
