These Are the Katy Perry Fashion Moments That Left Us All in Awe, Awe, Awe

Daisy Dove's mom has got it going on.

And though it will be years before the 4-year-old flies off from the well-appointed Santa Barbara, Calif. nest that Mom Katy Perry and Dad Orlando Bloom have feathered for her, when she does, she'll need a place with a few extra closets.

"Every artist has a vault of sorts and I definitely have a vault," Perry told E! News' Keltie Knight in January, referencing her extensive performance and red carpet wardrobe. "I'm actually going through it and looking to rehome a lot of stuff in the future—deep decades full of spring cleaning that needs to be done."

But one day, everything from her Chanel haute couture to the hamburger 'fit Perry cooked up for the 2019 Met Gala could be Daisy's.

"I need them to go somewhere," the "Woman's World" singer explained to PopSugar of not wanting to let any piece be the one that got away. "I want them to be worn again." However, the California native joked, she realizes there's a good chance that her little flower could "just be goth, and like, 'No, Mom. Thanks.'"

Because when it comes to style, Perry herself has certainly changed her mind like a girl changes clothes.

"When I started cultivating my own fashion I was 13, I was shopping at thrift stores and vintage stores and I would find these unique pieces from the forties and fifties and kind of look like a pinup girl and that’s how it all started," she explained to Vogue of bursting on the scene with 2008's One of the Boys and its 2010 followup Teenage Dream, rocking full-on camp. (California Gurls certainly are unforgettable what with their whipped cream-spraying lingerie.)

By the time she booked her first Vogue cover in 2013, she told the mag, "I had the opportunity to wear really nice clothes. I was just, like, so appreciative. I was letting, you know, the stylist and everyone just lead because of course they knew best and they could take me to the next level."

And now that she's entering a new decade—celebrating her 40th birthday Oct. 25—she can appreciate that "less is more," she acknowledged. But sometimes it's still fun to, say, flash a bit of thong and a prosthetic butterfly tattoo.

"My red carpet outfits, they vary depending on what I'm going to or what it is or what the theme is, but I kind of go two different ways," she explained. "I either go OTT weird and fun and wild and wacky, or I go elegant, evolved, designer, gorge."

No matter the route, though, she's mastered the art of leaving 'em all in awe, awe, awe. Check out the looks that prove Perry is brighter than the moon, moon, moon.
