Nicole Kidman Confirms More Iconic AMC Ads Are “In the Making”

We come to this place for Practical Magic.

At least, that’s a past role Nicole Kidman is channeling to tease that another AMC ad—like the movie theater chain’s original that debuted in September 2021—is on the way.

“Maybe, yes,” the 57-year-old exclusively told E! News correspondent Will Marfuggi Oct. 23 at the Los Angeles premiere of Special Ops: Lioness’ second season. “Yes, you need to talk to Adam [Aron, CEO of AMC Theaters].”

But Nicole—who is mom to Sunday Rose, 16, and Faith Margaret, 13, with husband Keith Urban, as well as daughter Bella, 31, and son Connor, 29, with ex Tom Cruise—went a step further to confirm that the ball is actually already rolling.

“We're in the making,” she continued in the interview, airing Oct. 24 at 11 p.m. on E! News. “I'm using a Practical Magic term: There's things brewing.”

As for how the Big Little Lies alum feels about the iconic pre-movie ad, whose fame and campy flare earned it a spoof on Saturday Night Live? She is grateful for the video’s impact on fans.

“I’m so glad that they do [love them],” she told E! News in April, “because it means that they go to the theater.”

And film lovers aren’t the only ones who enjoy going to the movies to relax. Nicole also found herself visiting her local AMC theater to take a break from filming season two of Special Ops: Lioness—premiering Oct. 27 on Paramount+—in Texas.

“I’d go to an AMC,” she told Entertainment Tonight in an interview published Oct. 24, “and I sit there and I hide my face when I come on screen. I even sent the head of AMC, Adam, a message that the AMC right there in Fort Worth is perfection.”

But it isn’t just chronically online social media users that enjoy the impact of Nicole’s dramatic and heartwarming ad.

In April, while honoring Nicole as she received the AFI Life Achievement Award—an honor given to an individual whose career in entertainment has impacted American culture—Morgan Freeman spoofed the video with his own version. He praised the Perfect Couple actress by referencing AMC’s tagline, simply saying, “Nicole Kidman, she makes movies better.”
