Jennifer Lawrence’s Stylist Jamie Mizrahi Reveals Fashion Hacks That’ll Change the Way You Dress
Tackling fall fashion is a lot less spooky thanks to Jamie Mizrahi.
For the celebrity stylist—who has dressed the likes of Jennifer Lawrence, Adele, Jeremy Allen White, Riley Keough and more—easy fall dressing comes down to always-reliable closet staples.
“I’m all about that perfect black dress or that perfect white button down, or the perfect pair of jeans, because you can never go wrong with those staples,” Jamie told E! News in an exclusive interview. “When you're in a panic and can't think of what to wear, I'm always just kind of reaching for my black sweater and my black pants and my blazer and my pumps. Or a white button down with a black sweater over it and jeans—just those classic no-fail looks that have become uniform.”
For her, when it comes to those tried-and-true pieces, “You know that no matter when you wear it, where you wear it, you're not going to regret it.”
And over a decade since her big break styling Eva Mendes during her Place Beyond the Pines press tour in 2012, Jamie has a “bag of tricks” to help any outfit look that much more refined. As for a few of her top go-tos?
“I always have my boob tape,” she noted. “I always have my pasty underwear.”
Still, when it comes down to it, Jamie emphasizes the importance of well-fitting clothing. “Tailoring is a stylist trick that I think no one pays enough attention to,” she told E!. “Tailoring can change an entire look and make it something that it wasn't initially.”
But despite her career providing style pointers to Hollywood’s biggest stars, she’s also learned a lot from them.
“Everyone has their own personal style and the way they like to dress and what they gravitate towards,” she explained. “So I'm constantly learning from my friends and clients and picking up on new designers and picking up things people are liking, and using that with my other clients.”
Her fashion background has also allowed her to dabble in interior design. Recently, Jamie partnered with Crate & Kids to design a sprightly playroom for her two kids.
“I'm very involved in designing my house in general,” she said. “I've kind of started to take it on and learn, and it's a really fun hobby for me."
And when it came to creating her space for her little ones she had free reign to make the space its own. “I was able to experiment in a way that I probably wouldn't in the rest of my house,” she noted. “So it felt really fun, and it felt like there was a lot of freedom to kind of do as I pleased.”
Whether Jamie would dive more into the home design space in the future? Well, anything is possible.
“I think interiors and dressing kind of overlap—it's all an extension of creativity and fun,” she continued. “And anything that's a creative outlet I'm definitely interested in.”
