Christina Haack Drops Ex Josh Hall—and His Last Name—in Christina in the Country First Look

Christina Haack is ditching her married name—and estranged husband Josh Hall—in a sneak peek at season two of Christina in the Country.

The real estate expert and home designer appears solo in the first look at the upcoming season of the HGTV series amid her ongoing divorce from Josh.

In the image, released Oct. 15, Christina—who reverted to her maiden name for the announcement—flashes a giant smile while posing in a chicken coop and rocking a denim jumpsuit. And while Josh is noticeably absent from the promo shot, he will likely return for season two since it was filmed before the former couple filed docs to legally end their marriage in July.

As for what fans can expect from the new season, Christina will be "creating custom dream homes for Nashville-area clients and navigating the hot market with her next flip and first rental property," according to HGTV's press release. The 41-year-old will "take bigger design risks to bring her clients’ visions to life, transforming dated kitchens, primary suites, basements and entertainment areas into breathtaking spaces with functionality, modern amenities and her signature high-end style."

Christina's kids —Taylor, 14, and Brayden, 9, who she shares with ex-husband Tarek El Moussa, as well as son Hudson, 5, who she shares with ex Ant Anstead—will also make appearances at their family farm.

As for how much her husband of two years will be featured, fans will have to tune in to find out.

Following the exes' breakup this summer, Josh spoke out claiming it was not his decision to end their marriage.

"I prefer privacy, especially during something as life changing as a divorce I did not ask for," the 43-year-old wrote on Instagram Aug. 2. "I will not publicly badmouth anyone as people have families, friends and others who respect and love them. Unfortunately the internet is forever."

And earlier this month, Christina listed their Tennessee home for sale and accused Josh of stealing money amid their split. Josh's rep vehemently denied the allegations.

“Josh has said repeatedly that he wants to handle the divorce like an adult—in the courts, not in social media and the tabloids,” his spokesperson told DailyMail.com in an Oct. 7 statement. “Over and over again, Christina has insisted otherwise, creating public spectacles, but Josh has still stayed quiet. But now Christina is defaming him.”

“These are false, libelous claims,” the statement continued. “Josh hasn’t stolen a penny from her or her family. This is a red line, and Christina has crossed it. Instead of repeating Christina’s false statement, the media should ask why Christina keeps insisting on handling this matter in public instead of through the law.”

Josh is seeking spousal support in the divorce, a move Christina has publicly condemned.

"Like all hard-working mothers, my life revolves around my children and my work," the Flip or Flop alum wrote in her July declaration. "It is my understanding that Josh has his own income and therefore, he should not need any spousal support from me."

Sparks flew while Christina and Josh started spending time together. The couple recreated their March 2021 date a year later.

While on vacation for Christina's birthday, the two posed for a photo on the beach and made their relationship Instagram official.

Months in, Christina had a message for any haters, noting she'll "turn off comments with Josh and will continue to do so if people are rude." As she later put it, "Do what you love with the ones you love. For me, that's Josh, my kids and a few close friends and co-workers."

Engaged! One day after celebrating Josh's birthday, Christina confirmed the duo's romance was anything but a flop.

The pair celebrated the spooktacular season with a visit to Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights.

Just a few months later, they marked their first Christmas together.

"Building life together and enjoying some alone time," she captioned this sweet pic. "Love you Josh."

The following month, Christina enjoyed the "Best Valentine's weekend with my Valentine."

"Prayed for a man who was all man but still treated me like his queen," Christina wrote on Instagram just a few days before news of her and Josh's marriage broke. "Never give up."

In April 2022, fans learned that Christina and Josh privately tied the knot. They then celebrated their union with a wedding in Hawaii that September.

"Shared vows in front of family and our close friends," Christina wrote on Instagram Sept. 4. "Everything in life has led me to where I am right now, which is exactly where I want to be. My dream man on the dreamiest island. Maui holds a special place in my heart. What an amazing night filled with love."

It would later be revealed that the two actually wed in October 2021.

The real estate agent celebrated the HGTV star's birthday with a sweet tribute.

"Happy 40th Birthday to my absolute stunner of a wife!" he wrote on Instagram. "This woman has accomplished so much, inspired so many and continues to impress me daily. I can’t say enough about what an absolute force she is and what she is capable of. Christina is about to make her 40’s the best decade of her life and looking better than ever while doing it!I’m a lucky man and thank my lucky stars that she chose me to take this ride with her that is now our life. Ride or die baby, love you more than anything."

Christina and Josh stepped out for a beach day with her French bulldog Cash and his dog Stella.

"Still going strong…" Josh wrote on Instagram alongside photos over the pair from over the past three years. "03/2024 ← 03/2023 ← 03/202← 03/2021."

In July 2024, Josh filed for divorce from Christina, citing "irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their split and her listing the same in her own court documents.
