Lady Gaga Reveals Surprising Person Who Set Her Up With Fiancé Michael Polansky
Lady Gaga can die with a smile thanks to her real-life cupid.
The Joker: Folie à Deux star revealed exactly who was responsible for setting her up with now-fiancé Michael Polansky, who proposed earlier this year. And no, it wasn’t a fellow celebrity who played matchmaker four years ago, but rather her mother, Cynthia Germanotta.
“My mom, she said, ‘I just met your husband,’” the 38-year-old told Access Hollywood in an interview published Sept. 23. “And I was like, ‘I’m not ready to meet my husband!’”
But the Oscar winner—who was previously engaged to Christian Carino and Taylor Kinney—later decided she was ready for a bad romance after all, so she took her mom up on the offer to introduce her to Polansky—a businessman who founded the charitable Parker Foundation alongside Napster co-founder Sean Parker.
“He was at a birthday party at Sean Parker’s house,” Gaga continued. “I went to the party and I met him, and he was just the most amazing man I’d ever met. We talked for, like, three hours and then I couldn’t find him, but then he called me.”
“I’m really grateful for my mom’s advice,” she added. “You don’t always take your mom’s advice, but mom did good!”
Gaga and Polansky debuted their romance by packing on the PDA at a New Year’s Eve party ringing in 2020 in Las Vegas, before she confirmed the relationship on Instagram a month later. The following year, she told The Hollywood Reporter, “My dogs and the man that I love are my whole life.”
The “Poker Face” singer sparked engagement speculation in April when she was spotted in Los Angeles sporting a large diamond ring on her left hand. The rumor was confirmed in July, when Gaga introduced Polansky as her "fiancé" at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
And while the couple have plenty to celebrate as they prepare to walk down the aisle, parenthood doesn’t seem to be on the agenda just yet. Gaga put pregnancy rumors to rest in June, posting a TikTok with the caption, “Not pregnant—just down bad cryin’ at the gym."
