2024 Emmys: Naomi Watts Shares Rare Insight Into Relationship With Husband Billy Crudup

Naomi Watts wants Billy Crudup by her side during the infinite storm of award shows.

The King Kong star—who is nominated for Outsanding Lead Actress in a Limited or Anthology Series or Movie at the 2024 Emmys for her performance in Feud: Capote vs. The Swans—shared that she's grateful to have her husband of over a year by her side when stepping out on the red carpet for nerve-wracking Hollywood events. "It's much easier to do this with someone," Naomi exclusively told Heather McMahan on Live From E!: Emmys on Sept. 15. "Doing any of these award shows or public appearances—it helps to just having someone on your team and holding the hand and a little bit of eye contact to center yourself."

The Oscar winner added, "Because even with practice over the years, it's not that natural."

And Billy—who is nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series for his performance in The Morning Show at this year's event hosted by Dan Levy and Eugene Levy—noted that the couple don't only serves as a support system for each other at award shows.

"We talk about work quite a bit," Billy explained on Live From E!: Emmys. "We'll run through ideas we have about scenes or characters. And I have to say there are no competitive vibes at all."

Of course, the couple—who tied the knot in 2023 after six years of dating—allow their competitive sides to come out in other aspects of their lives.

"Don't bring up the games," Billy joked before noting that playing Bananagrams and Snatch with Naomi can be a high-stress situation. "That gives me, like, panic attacks, but she loves it."

Recalling another game his wife excels at, he joked, "Don't ever play Scrabble with her."
